Educating the Future of the Church

Catholic schools provide a unique, faith-filled experience for students. Immersed in a school environment that is based on the Gospel message and knowing that Christ is the reason for our schools, students are able to learn and to grow in their relationship with God. This creates a learning experience that is not available to Catholic students in any public, including charter, school setting. This means that throughout the day, students are able to consider what they are learning in light of the Gospel message. They are able to reflect on their intellectual and social growth as it relates to God's Word.
Without the generosity of those who give of their treasure to Partners in Charity, this would not be possible. Thanks to faith-filled people responding to the many needs throughout the diocese, 627 students received financial aid to attend Catholic schools. Many families make tremendous sacrifices to send their children to Catholic schools because they know even the spiritual needs of the child are addressed in our schools. These families often speak of how much the generosity of others means to them.
Those who contribute are stewards of the Catholic faith. The contribution each person makes this year has the result of influencing the future of the Catholic Church. The teachers and administrators who work in our schools, and those of us in the Catholic Schools Office, recognize and appreciate that this important work of educating children intellectually and spiritually cannot be done without the generosity of faith-filled people who, through their stewardship, demonstrate that they are apostles.
