Blessed Pope John Paul II is the patron of this year’s annual appeals campaign. The Holy Father’s words invite us to open wide the doors to Christ. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Partners in Charity funds 28 charitable, educational and pastoral ministries in the diocese. People who work in these ministries bring peace to mourning families, bring love to suffering children, and bring knowledge to those seeking to learn. They present the face of Christ to others and see the face of Christ in those they serve.

As we prepare to launch this year’s campaign, we seek the Holy Father’s prayers for its success. The need has never been greater.

Bishop McManus Names Eppingers to Lead 2012 Campaign

Fred and Patty Eppinger of Grafton have been named chairs of the 2012 annual Partners in Charity campaign. Mr. Eppinger is president and chief executive officer of the Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester. Mrs Eppinger is an active volunteer in Central Massachusetts. The Eppingers have three children. Katie, a student a Worcester Academy, Andrew and Lauren, both students at the Touchstone Community School in Grafton. The Eppingers are members of St. Philip Parish in Grafton.

The Eppingers have been long-time supporters of the campaign and welcomed the opportunity to chair this year's appeal.

"The ministries funded by this appeal do valuable charitable and educational work in our community. In these difficult economic times, it is even more important for each of us to reach out and support the families who benefit from these services," the Eppingers wrote in a prepared statement.
